My sister made a surprise trip to visit me this week so I dragged her along on all my workouts.
Chillin’ with Dylan on the beach
Week 2 (9/23/2013 – 9/29/2013)
Monday: Strength training
Tuesday: Run 3 miles
Wednesday: Swim 2,100 yards
Thursday: Run 4 miles
Friday: Bike 22 miles
Saturday: Bike 38 miles
Sunday: Hike in Santa Cruz
As you can see, I’m already off to a great start at maintaining the blog… 🙂
My goal for the first month of Ironman training is to establish a workout routine that I can stick to and to get in the habit of rolling/stretching frequently. The first week of training was a little unusual because it included a 5k race at work (where I won my AG, thank you very much) and a weekend at Lake Tahoe to volunteer at IMLT (a recap is in the works). I had originally planned an epic training weekend while in Tahoe, but the weather had other plans…
The 80s threw up on me before the run
Pardon my “wet dog” look on the podium
Week 1 (9/16/2013 – 9/22/2013)
Monday: Bike 1 hour on the trainer
Tuesday: Run 4 miles + strength training
Wednesday: Swim 1,600 yards
Thursday: Run 5k at work
Friday: Run 3.5 miles in Tahoe (altitude hurts!)
Saturday: Unintentional rest day
Sunday: Volunteered at IMLT from 4 am – midnight
Hello friends, it’s been a while. This has been a crazy year that left little time for racing. The break was good for me, but it’s time to get down to bidness. I just registered for Ironman Coeur d’Alene on June 29, 2014. This will be my first 140.6!
Who else is doing IMCdA? Any advice for this first-timer?
